Week 9- Post 1

Because most of us life stressful lives with too many commitments, it is important to apply the three solutions to improve your life. The first solution is “to make a distinction between work and play”. It is important to do activities that make me happy, which can help balance my stressful job as a nanny. One of the most important activities that I enjoy is running. I love to run because it is my release of energy, and helps me clear my mind from work or school. The second solution is to think positive. I believe that having a positive attitude is the most important thing in life, and can determine whether you have a good or bad day. Although, I may have hard days at work, I do my best to just focus on simple yet good things in life. And finally, the third solution is to believe that joy and pain stem from the same place. For example, I sometimes have a dreadful time trying to start my paper. But once I get through the painful process of writing my paper the outcome is joyful.  Being able to finish my paper is a relief and makes me happy because I completed a difficult task.

  1. Hey Miss Leenie,
I think you've made some really good points. I usually find that getting out and doing something after a stressful day helps me a lot too. I'm not much of a runner like you are, but I love to go on long walks outside or elliptical at the gym. I also like your idea of thinking positively. I have used this before in stressful situations because ultimately we have the control of the outlook we choose to have, even if we don't have control of the situation. I also think the paper example is good as it is totally relateable for all of us college students as we are use to the pressure as well as the relief that comes after.
Well thanks for posting - Kenzie Marie

  2. Miss Leenie,
You started out your discussion post saying that most of us live stressful lives. It made me think how many other people, not only at SJSU, but everywhere, have to juggle work, school, relationships, friendships, and family. People need to learn to find a balance between the many things they are committed to. More times than not, attempting to balance numerous things in your life will cause stress. People need to know and understand the three solutions that you described in order to lead a less stressful life.
